Writing this script, I certainly pulled from personal experience and themes I have been navigating as I come into adulthood. Coping with loss, even trivial loss as someone who assigns perhaps too much meaning to small things. Being grateful can be overwhelmed at times with dread, as if it could only go downhill from here- because, not in spite, of how appreciative I am. Through the production of this film I feel I have grown a sense of acceptance, improving my ability to let things go and look forward to what has yet to reach me. As my undergraduate thesis, I believe this film truly showcases both my creative style and the techniques I have acquired as I continue to grow as a filmmaker. And what a joy it was to make as a last hoorah with my fellow classmates, especially Cinematographer Vin Bains. Working with Vin has helped me develop a better technical language and realize how composition can elevate a story I, at first, thought might be better as suited for a theatrical stage. Planning to submit to festivals by Jan. 2025. So stay tuned!
