Here, You Can Walk Me Home

Visiting the Little Italy portion of the North End, I started talking with an older woman, Dottie, as she fed the pigeons like she does almost everyday. She eventually took me on a tour of her neighborhood for several hours, sharing the timeline of her own life as well as that of the space as long as her and her husband have lived there. She said to me, “I try to talk to a stranger everyday, new people in my old place, it’s all I need, here, you can walk me home, the long way, I’ll show you all you’ll need to see.”
